I Am the Prince.

I am Escalus, Prince and ruler of Verona. This bloody feud between the houses of Montague and Capulet troubleth me, for the bloody brawls in Verona's streets threaten the peace of my beloved city. How is it that they cannot feel my rage, my anger, my frustration as I watch them slaughter each other like pigs? Why can they not feel my helplessness?

Indeed, I am the Prince, but i'faith, if they expect me to coddle them all like toddlers, what can I do? I am no governess; I am the Prince! I have my own troubles aside from that of the bitterness between Montague and Capulet.
